Where it all began

The story of King’s goes back to 1951, when small, informal gatherings lit a spark in the hearts of local people. These meetings and the passion of the people resulted in the first Aberdeen Assemblies of God (AOG) church.

Over the years the congregation faithfully served the city and eventually moved into a new building on Aberdeen’s King Street in 1969. However, the church came to a point where numbers dwindled dramatically, with only four people attending at one point.

In 1993, Pastor John Strachan at age 60, repurposed the church which began a very fruitful season in the life of the church.

Our new home

The current leadership team led by Pastor Iain Duthie and his wife Elizabeth took over AOG Aberdeen in 2004, which then became King’s Community Church, a church that has now grown to be an all age multi-cultural family, with a passion to transform this city by putting Jesus in the centre of everything the church does.

The most recent fundamental move for King’s was the move from the Kings Street location to the old Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre in the Bridge of Don area. With this move came a name change to King’s Church Aberdeen with a hope and desire to serve the city and surrounding area.

Our Core Values

Community

Embracing fellowship with other believers and reaching out to the people around us.

'All the believers were together and had everything in common.'
(Acts 2:44)

Maturity

Pursuing God and growing according to His will.

'Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.'
(Ephesians 5:1-2)

Loyalty

Being loyal to God's church and His purposes for our lives.

'...he will never leave you nor forsake you.'
(Deuteronomy 31:6)

Humility

Value others' needs above ours and put God first.

'Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.'
(Romans 12:16)

Generosity

Using and stewarding what is God's and what He has entrusted us with.

'Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.'
(1 Peter 4:2)

Our Mission

At King's Church everyone is welcome. Regardless of people's backgrounds or current circumstances, we are passionate about reaching out to our community, introducing them to Jesus and loving them.

As a Bible-believing church and having experienced God's goodness in our lives, we are also committed to reaching up to God together, meaning we're living lives that are constantly shaped by our faith in Jesus Christ.

Living a life for God means that life has meaning and purpose. We believe that God has an incredible journey planned out for us and we're devoted to reaching into our destiny.
